Location:Aberdeen
Our client is looking for a business manager, accountable for P&L and responsible for business development of both services and products for inspection and integrity testing of subsea and onshore installations.
They are a leading, long established applied technology company, providing engineered services and hardware to a broad client base within the marine environment.
It markets services and products worldwide to oil and gas companies, government agencies, and telecom, defence, aerospace and marine engineering organisations with a focus on deepwater applications.
The business offerings include ROVs, mobile offshore production systems, built-to-order specialty hardware, engineering and project management, subsea intervention and installation services, non destructive testing and inspections.
The successful candidate will be:
* Degree educated (or equivalent) in an engineering related discipline, preferably Chartered.
* Responsible for all activities associated with the implementation of inspection, integrity and project support to ensure that all clients and company operational, commercial and QHSE expectations and targets are met.
* Accountable for the commercial and profit and loss implementation of the business including preparation of annual budgets, approval of cost time resource estimates, completion /monitoring of agreed scopes within agreed budgets
* Develop existing business opportunities and generate new business opportunities
* Ensure effective communication on integrity and service issues
* Responsibility for provision of competent personnel in the areas of service management, corrosion/inspection engineering, specialist engineers/technicians
* Oversee, facilitate and input to the development, continuous improvement and delivery of the inspection business
* Responsibility for the correct identification and prioritisation of areas of work and resource demands. Advising where there are issues preventing completion of planned inspections by the agreed target date
* Ensure that business and HSE risk implications are clearly identified and appropriately assessed for consideration within the organisations Inspection Management Team
* Ensure all activities are performed in a professional, efficient, safe and cost effective manner and to the complete satisfaction of customers
* Ensure that best practices, technology, techniques and innovation, developed and implemented across similar integrity contracts are applied
* Direct management of growing the operations department, communicating with both onshore and offshore workforces
Required skills/experience:
* Thorough up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes of practice, standards and statutory regulations
* * Must have a good understanding of how to develop and administer a budget
Ability to work independently and use initiative to propose and implement changes to work practices
* Ability to solve problems by applying sound reasoning
* Ability to write accurate and concise reports
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients
* Must be self motivated and able to perform well under pressure
* Must have excellent internal and external communication skills
