About the role
Interesting, challenging and affording limitless potential, this is a role for a leader with vision, entrepreneurial thinking and, above all, a passion for preserving our national heritage for all to enjoy, for generations to come. Working with our ambitious ‘triple bottom line’ approach always in mind, your unwavering focus will be on visitor enjoyment, conservation and profitability, as you inspire the people who work on this diverse portfolio of properties. Designing and seamlessly delivering long-term strategies, tailored to the individual needs of the properties which make up this portfolio yet with our wider ambitions underpinning your activities, you’ll forge new ways to engage, generate revenue, protect and support in perfect balance. Above all, you’ll empower your team and inspire a feeling of ownership in all those around you.
About youWith an impressive track record of general management behind you, you’ll be able to demonstrate how you have delivered change and results across a demanding agenda. You’ll need to have managed large budgets (circa £250k) and diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including volunteers and consultants. An inspiring leader, you’ll understand the importance of individual ownership amidst a culture of sharing and learning. Confident setting new directions and leading creative solutions, you’ll understand the particular nuances of the heritage, conservation and land management arena. All in all, you’ll relish the opportunity to use your significant commercial and financial acumen for a cause such as ours, in an environment which is as welcoming as it is breathtaking.
