Geoscientist / Geotechnical Engineer - Hampshire

Our client is a leading project management and advisory company, who work across a variety of sectors which include: Water, Coastal Development, Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, and Marine Cables markets are looking to recruit an experienced Geoscientist / Geo-engineer, with a clear remit for Site Investigation and Business Development.
The right candidate will be able to display a high level of technical competency in their discipline (most likely geophysics or geotechnics), but will also be commercially oriented and able to demonstrate a track record in business development and a strong desire to pursue and acquire new business.
An in-depth understanding of the current international Site Investigation market will be a 'must', combined with a thorough knowledge and previous 'hands-on' experience of the offshore Site Investigation business.
Any candidate considered for the position will be dynamic, highly motivated and able to demonstrate initiative. Effective communication skills and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. The candidate must have a clean, current driving licence and must be prepared to travel to meet with prospective customers and to build effective relationships. Ideally, the candidate will have an established network of site investigation client contacts.
This position is viewed as a key role in the client's organisation and the candidate will have the opportunity to significantly influence the development of client's Site Investigation business going forward.
Role Requirements
o Degree in a relevant geoscience / earth science or civil engineering subject or equivalent.
o MSc. or other postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject is desirable.
o Relevant and demonstrable experience in Site Investigation field operations and survey management, as well as a track record in a related commercial and business development role.
o Client facing skills and business development capability
o Chartership or a commitment to Chartership through a relevant body would be desirable
o Experience: No fixed definition but will probably be of the order of a minimum of 10 years within a relevant role within the industry.
