Global Company Secretarial ? Senior Manager PwC Legal have an exciting opportunity to join its market leading Company Secretarial team. Managing legal entity compliance and demonstrating corporate governance requirements in a global environment can be a very difficult challenge, especially as many overseas operations have a limited back office function. This exposes subsidiaries and their Directors and Officers to risks. We are looking for a Senior Manager, with Company Secretarial experience in an international environment, to head up our Global Governance and Compliance team. The main focus will be delivering on a variety of cross-border projects, from international compliance to subsidiary governance and controls implementation. The candidate will also have a good understanding of industry technology and how this can be utilised to facilitate global compliance and governance objectives across the business. Responsibilities

  • Building a relationship with the General Counsel of US multinational clients.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing the Business Development strategy for growing the Global Compliance Services portfolio.
  • Responsible for business development including targeting, initial client meetings, preparation of detailed proposals and cross-border contracting.
  • Overseeing team operations for a group of 8 qualified chartered secretaries, paralegals and trainees including budgets, forecasts, delivery and team communications.
  • Involvement with the coaching, training and development of trainees and chartered secretaries.
  • Relationship, finance, scoping and delivery oversight on all global engagements.
  • Responsible for resolving escalated issues from the project team, the global network or the client.
  • Client service initiatives across the whole team in the UK.
  • Maintaining an effective global network and managing network communications for 95 network offices.
  • Contributing to the leadership of a growing company secretarial business in the UK, with regional hubs in Mexico and Australia.
RequirementsYou must be able to demonstrate all or most of the following:
  • Qualified Chartered Secretary, with a good academic background and proven practical experience, gained either within a professional services firm, a FTSE 150 or a blue chip financial services company secretarial department.
  • Experience of internal controls in the context of international groups.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and the ability to apply this practically and commercially to clients.
  • Proven track record in building relationships with internal and external clients, with a willingness to take a lead role in business development.
  • Commitment to client service.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with Blueprint software or other industry software.
  • Excellent communication, team-working, delegation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a proactive attitude and desire to work within a professional services environment and further your own personal development.
  • Commercial and creative or "can do" approach.
  • Willingness to travel overseas as required.
