Global Purchasing Executive
Location: East Midlands
Our internationally renowned client is looking for Global Purchasing Professionals to develop and execute commodity strategies that meet the needs of the Supply Chain Unit and ensure Global Supply Chain performance meets the business requirement.
The Global Purchasing team is vital to the success of the business and they are focused on driving its services forward through the development and creation of successful relationships with their suppliers. Global Purchasing is on a journey of continuous improvement and the current business plan aims to transform the function into one that is considered to be world-class in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
The Role
·Lead the development and execution of global commodity and supplier strategies
·Deliver the required global supply chain performance that meets the Business requirements
·Manage the function of an integrated organisational capable of operating in a global and regional environment
·Lead the regional management team ensuring compliance to purchasing processes and/be the local point of escalation for the resolution of region commercial and general supplier performance issues
·Accountable for functional and professional development of the buying function
The Person
·Degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
·Experience of leading cross functional teams
·Experience in strategic planning and industry analysis at Executive level
·Operates Supplier Relationship Management at Executive level
·Broad Technical & Manufacturing knowledge across all commodity
·Strong IT & Systems knowledge
·Lean and Processes improvement experience
·Sound understanding of cost drivers and ability to generate Cost Models
·Global outlook and exposure to different challenges & cultures
·Flexible to International travel as required
