My client is a joint venture business whose major shareholder is one of the world's largest brands.
The organisation is currently on a journey aimed at doubling the size of what is already an international manufacturing business which is a leader in its field, turning over about $500million from sites located across four continents.
Central to the strategy is the creation of an exceptional central team through which the journey to become world class can be driven.
A new, high profile CEO has completed his orientation and now has identified about ten key appointments all of which will be based in a new leadership centre.
In order to ensure that the innovative and highly talented centre is not diluted in any way the number of people based in this office will be strictly limited. This will create a potential environment where everyone can expect to grow as individuals in addition to enjoying the undoubted fun of aggressively growing a business.
Key to the team will be the strengthening of central finance by appointing an exceptional Group Financial Controller who has the ability to become the future CFO of what will then be a billion dollar business.
You will need to demonstrate a high intellect, the ability to get out into the business globally, understand what the key drivers are on the individual business units, build relationships with the business unit directors and the internal finance teams which creates a willingness on their part to work with you and the credibility that will be required so that you can provide real strategic insight back into the business operations.
The company operates to FTSE50 standards. You will need therefore not only to be technically excellent, but ideally will have a second tier qualification such as an MBA or at least a willingness to broaden your horizons in this way. Such qualities will ensure that you are not out of your depth with the central team which the CEO is building.
