Our Client is one of Europe's leading Retail Communications agencies and produces some of the most creative and innovative work in the industry, for a host of blue chip clients and leading brands. An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Group Procurement Category Manager to join the organisation and become an integral part to the workings of the business.
The Role:
* To lead the management and development of the assigned purchasing categories.
* Implementation of group purchasing strategy, reducing costs and ensuring the company maintains a competitive edge.
* Define, develop and implement category strategies and plans to deliver strategic cost reduction.
* Set strategies, budgets and savings objectives.
* Address supply issues as and when they arise.
* Regular reporting on forecasts, budgets, and savings.
* Travel internationally when required.
The Person:
* Demonstrable experience in a buying related function, preferably in a variety of category purchasing activities.
* A skilled negotiator with demonstrable experience of negotiating on £1 million + spends.
* Experience of category management/procurement gained within a blue chip organisation desirable.
* Good knowledge of print and production and experience of procuring a range of substrates advantageous.
* An excellent communicator with a strong commercial bias and sound financial understanding.
