Experienced HR Assistant/Advisor Required

As a result of expansion we have a new position and require a HR Advisor to provide support to the HR function, working closely with the HR Manager.
One of our companies, Debt Advisory Line, has recently been awarded the ‘Debt Management Provider of the Year’ award at the Credit Today Insolvency and Rescue Awards 2008. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Generalist to help to drive the business forward.
The role is very rewarding, with a salary of £16,000 - £18,000 negotiable depending on relevant experience.

Hours
Hours are 9.00am - 5.30pm. There may be a requirement on occasion to work additional hours in order to ensure that the best service is provided to the teams across the group.
Location
The role is based in Keighley, West Yorkshire but you will be required to attend our office in Manchester on a regular basis.
The role and responsibilities
oWorking in a generalist capacity, supporting the Head of HR in employee relations matters.
oAll generalist HR administration duties will be covered with a particular focus on recruitment, i.e. contracts, offer letters, reference checking.
oKey relationships will include the team leaders and department heads and you will therefore have excellent communication skills.
oGiving advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations matters in your own right at an appropriate level.
oAttending disciplinary and grievance meetings with line managers in a note taking capacity.
oSupporting recruitment throughout the group this will include some interviewing and development of the recruitment process.
oProducing reports e.g. labour turnover, absenteeism.
oCarrying out inductions and other training e.g. relating to HR policies and procedures.
oOther generalist responsibilities as required within the team.
The successful candidate will display the following qualities:
Essential
oPossess CPP or equivalent qualification.
oExcellent administration skills.
oAnalytical skills with the ability assimilate and interpret information.
oExcellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
oA professional manner, someone who conveys the utmost credibility and integrity.
oExperience in attending disciplinary and grievance meetings in an HR capacity.
oA confident telephone manner.
oAn approachable persona.
oExperience of working within a busy HR function.
oCommitment to a face paced, challenging role.
oCapable of dealing with a variety of queries, escalating more complex cases to the HR manager where necessary.
oProven ability to communicate within an HR / business environment.
oThe successful candidate must have experience of working in an HR department and an understanding of UK employment law, good communication skills, be pro-active and able to work to tight deadlines.
oExperience of advising line managers in employee relations matters along with training and development.
Desirable
oMembership of the CIPD.
oEducated to Degree standard or equivalent is desirable but not essential, dependent on experience.
oA background in financial services.
