A vacancy has arisen for a QHSE Advisor to manage Quality, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental issues and to provide advice, support to RAF Sites within the East Midlands area. Candidates will be home based with some travel to sites.
This position will report directly to the Head of QHSE.
Responsibilities will include:
- Promoting a safe, health & injury free environment and role model in behavioural safety
- As the QHSE specialist provide leadership and coaching and training to all staff on their responsibilities in relation to health, safety & environmental legislation.
- Advise on compliance and practical application of EHS legislation and to the MOD Sustainability handbook.
- Ensure the company certification to ISO 14001, ISO 9001 & OHSAS 18001 are adhered to, maintain and demonstrate continual improvement.
- Support CDM project compliance with EHS legislation, MOD JSP's, Company policies, guidance and best practice.
- Undertake auditing, coaching and support of supply chain to assist them in achieving the high standards of QHSE performance required by MOD
- Carry out suitable and sufficient QHSE (including CDM) audits satisfying the requirements of company certification and internal standards.
- Accurately investigating and reporting on all potential hazards and dangerous occurrences within the Area. - Responsible for accurately investigating and reporting on any and all "near misses", accidents and ill health experiences in collaboration with the relevant staff members and/or external agencies.
- Responsible for designing and delivering appropriate H&S Training interventions across the Region.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a relevant Health and Safety Qualification (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate) and a qualification in environment & quality is favourable but not essential.
A qualified and/or experienced auditor.
