The Pi Shurlok headquarters are located in the impressive Milton Hall building, CambridgeUK, engineering offices in Detroit, USA and production facilities in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Cars and trucks are now incredibly complex with electronics and software featuring in most applications on the vehicle, ranging from powertrain and chassis, through body modules to complex infotainment and interior systems – and Pi Shurlok is at the heart of them all. Transportation industry electronics is the fastest growing sector of the industry, and is undergoing huge changes as legislation makes emission control more complex, consumer electronics drives infotainment change, and concern over fuel reserves drives the development of hybrid vehicles.
Pi Shurlok are looking to recruit Hardware Engineers to join a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the design, development and validation of cost-effective volume automotive and adjacent market electronic products.
The successful candidate will be required to:
·Provide significant technical input to proposals in support of new business wins.
·Supporting execution of cost-effective automotive electronic product designs suitable for volume manufacture within agreed timing, cost and quality targets.
·Perform design activities including (but not limited to): requirements capture, specification writing, circuit design and analysis, component selection, DFMEA, reliability analysis, validation testing, test and engineering report writing, and documentation.
·Day-to-day co-ordination with other design team members including Hardware, Mechanical and Software.Liaison, where required, with outsourced Validation and Manufacturing partners.
·Ensure that designs are executed in accordance with internal and customer quality/process requirements to achieve clean product launches.
·Interface with the customer’s engineering team, including management as appropriate.
·Provide coaching to junior engineers.
Technical Skills required:
·BSc or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Physics or related field.
·Experience in volume electronics manufacturing or engineering.
·Experience of automotive electronics design experienced gained with either a Tier 1 or OEM.
·Experience in customer facing technical role.
·Experience of working with automotive quality systems (TS16949, QS9000, and NPI processes.
·Strong analytical and problem solving skills (familiar with 8D or equivalent process)
