My client, a leading provider of high performance networks with an enviable list of large blue chip clients and ISPs are currently looking to recruit a Principal Architect / Head of Architecture & Engineering to take responsibility for the overall direction and strategy of all network engineering and managed services matters. You will be committed to providing innovative, cutting edge network design and associated architecture and be responsible for setting the network architecture strategy, developing short and long-term plans together with budget management and ownership. This role leads an engineering team and is responsible for directing projects in all stages of engineering planning, design and maintenance, ensuring that sound technical engineering concepts are applied throughout the organisation.
We are seeking people with experience in planning, directing and controlling all engineering activities, planning all relevant architecture design whilst formulating ongoing and cohesive technology strategy. You will be responsible for the evaluation of all future network platforms and act as the Technical design authority for all technical matters and products. You will be well versed with being the principle technical person within the company, interfacing with the network planning team to ensure optimised capacity and sparing management and planning and management of all network changes, upgrades and extensions.
You will have experience of developing white papers and presenting at external telecoms forums and be well known throughout the telco marketplace.
