The Organisation

WRVS is a major (£85 million) UK charity delivering services through volunteers to help older people to live active and independent lives.

The Role

This key role is instrumental to our success in the future as you lead on national and regional business development, working closely with our Chief Executive and Director for Older People’s Services to develop and maintain contacts with key stakeholder organisations including the Cabinet office, Office of the Third Sector, other Government Department and national organisations. You will ensure that all opportunities arising from national government initiatives are seized and bids successfully submitted, through to monitoring new business developments arising within our own and other organisations, and ensuring this best practice is followed throughout the organisation.

Other key areas of the role include acting as the central point for collation of WRVS Standards governing all aspects of service delivery, to ensure that the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction are achieved; and serving as the central internal authority on all matters relating to Contract Management including the management of all tender based activity and supporting Regional Management in the conduct of negotiations.

The Person

With a Masters degree in Business Administration, or equivalent professional business analysis experience, you will bring with you expertise in the operation of Quality standards, specifically in external accreditation processes, and experience ofcontract management including legal wording, high-level negotiation, operation of SLAs and preparation of commercial tenders.

Excellent communication skills are paramount, and you will be equally confident and comfortable liaising with key stakeholders in government departments as you are building relationships with potential partner organisations, and will enjoy developing close working relationships with internal departments to ensure a flow of information that is of mutual benefit.

It almost goes without saying that, as an experienced professional, you will of course be able to work to demanding deadlines and constantly developing business needs.
