Head of Capital Projects - Reporting to Operations Director
To manage major Capital Projects and lead & manage the Project Office Team to deliver all Strategic and Operational capital investment activities on site. To manage Capital Projects within the agreed budget & schedule and that these are in line with changing business plans and priorities. To satisfy internal & external customer needs and meet their expectations. To handover and close out projects in a timely manner and continue to identify areas to improve the Capital Project Management Processes. To develop and build Project Office team to meet future business need of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
1) To lead, manage, plan, coordinate and develop the department?s financial and human resources requirements to satisfy the customer?s needs. Provide leadership, coordination, motivation and development to the Capital Project Engineering (C.P.E) group.
2) Leading development and management of site?s capital plan and budget. Directing capital investment to new and existing buildings, structures and facilities through effective and economic project management procedures. Developing justifiable capital project proposals and plans from business needs. Analysing and consulting on technical problems, feasibility studies and material and equipment selection. Working effectively with internal and external stake holders (Legal, Procurement, Finance, Risk Management, EH&S, Operations and Maintenance) to implement the capital in accordance with the highest ethical standards, all legal and policy requirements and company values
3) Direct and control the Capital Projects Engineering function to enable site business objectives to be met with respect to new product introduction, process improvements, downtime, productivity improvement, compliance, cost reduction and capital expenditure.
4) Direct and control the C.P.E. group to achieve safe, quality, cost effective, timely and successful implementation of a diverse range of key projects across the whole site in accordance with the agreed capital plan and overall business strategy.
