Head of Contract and Supplier Management
Based in Brighton
£60K + £5K Bonus + Option to participate in the company share scheme
Leading travel company in Brighton is currently recruiting for a Head of Contract and Supplier Management to join their rapidly expanding team.
Job Purpose Summary
This is a senior position in which you will head up and lead a team to drive contracting initiatives, within budget across the company. This will include managing the supplier strategy - contract innovation, contract and commercial negotiations, developing relationships with existing suppliers as well as initiating the smooth contract application of new suppliers into the business.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Drive and develop sourcing plans based upon business needs for products/ services in order to provide support to the business units on effective supply chain management.
Leading commercial negotiations with suppliers for high value contracts.
Manage financial risk by ensuring that any guaranteed and fixed supplier contract arrangements are utilized to full potential.
Working cross-functionally throughout the business to leverage existing suppliers against business unit needs.
Developing and maintaining supplier relationships and performance ensuring the company's interests are protected
Managing and enhancing all commercial aspects of the guaranteed and committed supplier arrangements with key relationship owners.
Liaise with company lawyers on content and documentation.
Driving data/ information system(s) to support processes, ensuring they are updated and maintained appropriately.
Managing contracts and contractual relationships with suppliers to ensure the business and operations are supported and protected.
Manage supplier costs which include forecasting payment of deposits and final invoices to suppliers in cooperation with the finance function.
Training, development and welfare of all the persons in the team reporting to you.
Work with targets such as KPIs that focus on reducing rates, reduce risk, improved margin, save cost etc.
Manage H&S and risk in relation to supplier’s contracts.
Line Management responsibilities of the Contract Team, Supplier management Team and Health and Safety Team – Approx 15 Staff
Ideal candidates will have:
·Solid international buying/ procurement/ purchasing knowledge and experience.
·Experience in the tourism industry and knowledge of contracting with suppliers of air, coach, ferry and accommodation services on major contract deals.
·Proven track record of closing commercial contracts
·Line Management skills
·Experience of dealing with Staff HR matters desirable.
·Fluent in French desirable
·Project management experience.
·Self- motivated and good working under pressure
