Head of Development sought to join a rapidly expanding company in Oxfordshire in a high-profile strategic role. You’ll be responsible for managing a 30-strong development team in the creation of high quality, 24x7 enterprise applications for an expanding customer base.You’ll also take responsibility for developing our technical capability and position your teams to support extensive future business growth plans.You’ll need a proven track record of managing and building high-calibre technical teams, P&L management, project / programme management and some external client-facing experience, with any bid exposure being advantageous.This role offers a significant opportunity for a motivated individual to make their mark in a high-profile and rapidly expanding environment, with significant career progression opportunities as the business expands across the UK and globally.
The role:
- Develop and deliver a long term technical vision to support future growth.
- Take ultimate responsibility for delivering large, complex programmes of development, working within strict timescales, budgets and quality standards.
- Managing the expanding development team, developing our culture of high-performers and supporting personal growth.
- Strong commercial management, including P&L and cost models, seeking to continually drive down costs and improve efficiency.
- Building effective customer relationships at all levels during the bid process to understand requirements and managing the development of solutions to meet these.

- Of graduate calibre, extremely strong people management skills, with a strong track record of building highly motivated teams and managing talent to deliver full potential.

- Strong commercial management skills, P&L management and proposal / cost model development.
- Experience of managing complex development programmes within a high-stakes environment.
- Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills.
