Head of HR – Westc£70k
Our client, a leading global transport Group, is seeking a highly commercial Head of HR for their West Region, reporting to the Group HR Director.The role will support a large train operating company and 4 Bus operating companies employing c10,000 people.Responsible for leading the HR service provision for the Region, the Head of HR will interface with MD’s and senior management teams, leading a team of HR professionals.This is a demanding role which covers the full range of HR activities in a highly unionised environment, including recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, learning and development and delivering the HR business plans for each of the operating companies.
The ideal candidate will have operated at a senior level ideally in rail, transportation or retail and will have previous Trade Union experience.Particular skills will include commercial acumen, innovation and influencing skills.Candidates must demonstrate the ability to create HR Strategies which drive business performance and evidence how they have personally added value to the organisations where they have operated.The role will require regular travel throughout the Region, and will be based from Swindon.
