Head of Research and Development (R&D)
Based in Blackburn, Lancashire
Basic salary up to £62,386 (package c. £73,600) including Company Car, Pension Scheme and Profit Related Bonus Scheme
A successful, privately owned company with a turnover of £100 million, progressing a robust 3 year plan taking the business to £150 million. The Company has a strong brand portfolio and has been supplying innovative wallcoverings to leading retailers around the world for over 60 years.
They currently have a vacancy for a Head of R&D.
The Role
- Manage the technical function of production and product innovation thereby improving the company’s overall performance.
- Source innovative materials and production methods to ensure that the company remains at the cutting edge of the market.
- Work closely with all areas of the business to educate the company on new technologies / raw materials.
- Negotiate, implement and maintain the Climate Change Agreement (CCA) with Government and Industry bodies.
- Sole responsibility for regulative legislation that the Company must meet.
The Candidate
You will be a well balanced personality with self awareness to improve your personal and management skills. You will remain calm and rational under pressure with an ability to communicate with all levels both internal and external to the business.You will be meticulous in all areas of your day to day activities and maintain an open mind to any ideas on product innovation.
- You will have proven experience of a similar role within Wallcovering, Paper or Ink industries.
- Freedom from domestic obligation to enable you to travel internationally.
- Qualified to Degree Level in Chemistry.
