We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to head up our Signalling Construction team specialising specifically in Underground works. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding division within our Rail business.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of Signalling Construction works for Atkins on London Underground projects
- Lead the team to ensure that all London Underground site work is undertaken in such a way to ensure that there is limited disruption to the operational service and the work is undertaken in accordance with the design, and industry specification
- To ensure compliance with LU QUENSH, with the agreed isolation and access arrangements and in line with approved method Statements. (By inspection and audit)
- Advise Clients and Contractors on issues pertaining to construction activities within the London Underground Railway Environment
- Responsibility for providing information on progress and programme to ensure work is undertaken in line with agreed monitoring regimes
- Maintain effective communication with all parties
- Ensure sufficient resource is available to effectively cover the work and meet the client's obligations.
- Effectively manage the client throughout the project to ensure that Atkins reputation is enhanced. .
- Seek to protect Atkins involvement and advise Senior Engineers if issues arise.
- Provide leadership of site activities
- Manage project finances to ensure that forecast returns and cash flow are met or exceeded.
- Senior Involvement in Bids/Tenders for Underground works
- To report as Unit Manager to the Head Of Signalling Construction
Requirements
- Senior Construction management experience gained within the London Underground environment.
- Strong Signalling Technical Knowledge
- Extensive signalling projects experience at senior manager level as evidenced by involvement in Resource Planning, managing project finances and delivery of programmes on time and to budget.
- Rail Engineering background with knowledge of infrastructure project delivery
- Proven experience with involvement in bids/tenders/cost estimating in an Underground environment
- MIRSE Minimum / or demonstrate able equivalent Professional Membership
