Vacancy Description
My client has been established since 1989 and specialise inproviding a maintenance service to water utility companies.
The company has progressively developed into a main contractor with an annual turnover in excess of £20 million operating throughout southern England.
Their civil engineering capability compliments their M&E technical ability. By combining these two disciplines they are able to provide our customers with a complete service, delivering construction projects without the need to be reliant on sub contract trades.
Using their own directly employed personnel they are able to undertake the construction of large complex structures requiring careful planning and management control.
The Role
They are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager to be based out of their South West office.
The ideal candidate will have several years of relevant experience, and must be familiar with ISO9001/2000. You would have had training as an ISO9001 auditor.
The job will include maintaining and improving the Quality Management System, conducting internal audits on the company processes, arranging and conducting external audits on their key suppliers, supervising audits conducted on them by their customers and creating Quality Plans for development projects.
Also review the current system and bringing into line with ISO9001/2008. You will also be required to develop a set of environmental processes and procedures from scratch, leading to ISO14001 certification.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills
- Experience within Utilities and civil engineering essential
- Good general IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience of operating/managing ISO9001/2001 quality systems.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly both verbally and in writing.
- NEBOSH Diploma and CMIOSH / GradIOSH membership.
Desirable Skills
- Experience/training as an ISO9001 auditor.
- Knowledge of the ISO14001 standard for Environmental Management.
