Helpdesk Engineer (1st / 2nd Line Support)

Upto £26,000 (depending on experience) inc bonus + benefits.


Netstar specialises in building and supporting IT network and telecommunications infrastructure for small and medium businesses in London and South East England. We offer a diverse range of consultancy, deployment and managed services giving us the ability to fulfil specific tasks or end-to-end solutions by working with or as our client’s IT department.

We believe in hiring only the best people and as we expand, we are seeking Service Desk Engineers Engineer with a broad technical grounding including a good understanding of networking principles and Microsoft server and desktop environments.

Skills and experience

Responsibilities
• Technical Support and Incident Management

• Remote monitoring of business-critical products and service levels, PC and server configuration and onsite support on an ad hoc basis
• Phone/email/remote support
• Desktop & Server Network administration
• Escalation management

Back up monitoring and reporting
• Ensuring deadlines are met


Skills

You ideally have:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Group Policies and Active Directory are advantageous
• Excellent communication, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Netstar considers all applicants, but the role typically favours those who are fully or part qualified. CCNA is desirable and relevant MCP, MCSA or MCSE qualifications are a strong bonus.
• We are seeking an Engineer with at least 2 years recent experience in a similar role

• Reliable and willing to solve client demands
• Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability
• Able to get on with others and be a team-player

Minimal Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience in a similar support role
• Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop & Server technologies
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate technical issues to all levels
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills & team player attitude
• Ability to work in the UK
