History Teacher
This role has become available due to the present history teacher heading off on maternity leave in January. The role is to teach History to GCSE level and you will actually have 2 GCSE classes.
The school are looking for a history teacher who really knows the subject - ideally with a minimum of 6 months experience teaching in the UK.
You should have the ability to really engage and enthuse the pupils about the lessons to be gleaned from History.
A strong knowledge of the second world war and 20th century history is important for the syllabus the school studies.
The school does also teach A-level history and if you have a good knowledge base on either the Tudors or the Ottoman empire this may well be able to be accomodated with some A-level classes.
In terms of the grades the school posted 91% of the pupils getting an A-C in History GCSE last year and so it is very much a place you can teach.
