My client, a large & prestigious pharmaceutical company currently has an unusual and much sought after vacancy for a Hospital Sales Representative / Key Account Manager to join their team managing the Leeds to Newcastle territory (vacancy reference SR 1916).

Selling an innovative product which is administered via intra venous infusion for the treatment of pain (particularly following surgery), fever and when other routes of administration of analgesics are not suitable, this product is positioned as an adjunct to current pain relief therapy, solely in the hospital environment.

Dealing with a broad spectrum of customers within secondary care from to anaesthetists and acute pain nurses, to recovery nurses, ITU/HDU staff, surgical ward nurses and a range of pharmacists this is the only product of its type available in the UK and you will have sole accountability and responsibility for the hospitals in your geographical area.As such this role should be viewed more as a Key Account Management opportunity, as you will be responsible for taking orders from your customers and will therefore see the immediate result of the impact you have.

Due to the nature of the role, all applicants must already have a proven track record of sales success within the Hospital environment in the UK; our client will happily consider either a candidate already working in a dedicated Hospital Specialist role covering some of the key hospitals in the area, or a strong GP/Hospital Rep with a proven track record of individual success within secondary care.Knowledge of the hospital contract & procurement pathway would also be an advantage although is by no means a prerequisite.As the sole representative on territory, you must be able to provide evidence to support your application, with much prized skills including long term relationship development, excellent customer service and support, business planning and analysis, time management and prioritising etc.

In return, you will be rewarded with a generous basic salary (dependent on experience – completely flexible in order to attract the right calibre of candidates), plus tax free daily allowance, company car, laptop & mobile telephone, pension, private healthcare & bonus.As with all field based sales roles of this type, a full UK driving license is require (with 6 points or fewer) and all candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
