We manage a variety of frontline operational services on behalf of Stockport Council that include Waste collection and Recycling, security services, property maintenance, catering, passenger transport, fleet management, as well as highway maintenance, street lighting and sign manufacture.
We are looking to appoint an experienced HR professional to join our Human Resources Team and manage the provision of HR administration support. You will provide specialist advice to managers and employees, including advising on employee relations issues, driving equality and diversity initiatives and supporting recruitment and selection. As well as possessing the technical and management skills required, you will have the drive, energy and enthusiasm to achieve results in a successful customer-focused company that is going places.
To succeed in the role you will need to be CIPD qualified with excellent communication and influencing skills. You will be an experienced manager who is an HR generalist with a sound grasp of employment legislation, and be able to express complex issues in a straightforward way. You must have the confidence to deal with Heads of Services and Line Managers and be able to provide specialist advice to enable them to reach the correct employment decisions.
Experience of dealing with employee relations issues in a unionised environment is essential along with the ability to contribute to the delivery of our ambitious HR agenda.
