World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a INS/GPS Engineer.
Please Note: you must have current SC (Secret Level) Security Clearance.
The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after).
The rate on offer is £Negotiable
INS / GPS Engineer Job Description:
Support to All UK INS and/or GPS Activities. This role is to be part of a small team who specify and manage the procurement of Inertial Navigation sensors such as IMUs, Accelerometers, gyros, for missile systems. The team also specifies and uses GPS systems for the weapons systems. This role will be in support of a number of projects and to work in a busy area of activity.
The applicant should have a knowledge of Inertial Sensors but can have an in-depth experience of either IMUs or GPS systems used in a military environment.
In support of project, shall monitor potential suppliers capability and assess risks of a product and, and being aware of “shareholders” ones.
Support modelling activities for simulation.
Take into account “design to cost” approach, to decrease global cost.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Background in Electronics preferred
Expertise in either IMUs or GPS systems
Good computing skills
Programming language (C/C++ or MATLAB) preferable
Good interpersonal skills
Good communication skills
Cross cultural sensitivity
