This is not business-as-usual IT work, but instead is the big-ticket project work that ensures our company will be able to compete at the top of our industry for years to come.
So where do you come in? If you are an experienced Project Estimator, adept at providing detailed costing proposals, budgets and forecasts for this type of scheme, then this could be the role for you. Working predominantly with ATG, SOA and Java platforms, you will use your initiative to improve the quality of departmental estimates and present proposals for the commercial delivery of solutions to senior management figures. You’ll ensure continuous improvement of our estimating processes, establishing a standard estimating model and driving best practice at all times. You’ll play a central role in ensuring that all our project costs are fully and accurately projected, all activities are properly scoped and resource requirements are precisely defined.
You’ll need to have extensive experience in a related position, having worked on large-scale projects worth in excess of £500k. Ideally this experience will have been gained within an IT or technology related environment, and ideally you will have a background with CRM, POS, ERP or e-commerce type systems. We will however also consider high quality individuals who have achieved high levels of success in estimating, bid preparation, tender proposal, or procurement positions in other industries or sectors.
You will have a deep understanding of how to analyse project aims and requirements, produce detailed and accurate cost proposals, and present these to senior decision makers in a manner that is easy to understand and digest. You will be experienced in building and managing strong stakeholder relationships and influencing at all levels of an organisation up to and including the main board. You will be a confident and articulate communicator, able to challenge and act as a strong advocate for your department in the wider business. You will understand a range of project management methodologies, and must be adept at operating within an Agile working method.
You will have a sound grasp of commercial principles, be able to visualise and communicate the importance of the activities of the Business Change function within the wider overall commercial objectives of the business. You’ll also need to be a genuinely effective problem solver and able to work as part of a large team in a focused, committed and purposeful way, overcoming obstacles to achieve results of the highest quality.
