Sourcing Manager
Location:Telford
Job Description:
Our client is responsible
for leveraging maximum Value for Money from their IT Suppliers. This role
reports directly to the Professional Services and Hardware Category Manager. Based in Telford, the Sourcing Manager will be working
closely with colleagues, appropriate suppliers and the customer. The clear
focus is to manage IT related categories and sourcing projects closely to
conclude a specific contract that leverages Corporate agreements and secures
the best Value for Money for the organisation and the customer.
Key
Tasks:
Assist in delivering the
category strategy for Hardware and Telcos.
Assist in delivering the
financial and other value generating targets in line with the department’s
objectives.
Assist in the
implementation of the governance associated with the purchase and management of
commodities under their control which also include P2P catalogue
implementation.
Manage a section of the preferred
Partner list working in conjunction from the Business Development, IT
Architecture and Operational delivery teams
Help in the development of appropriate stakeholder maps for designated
category/commodity areas and be responsible for their delivery in specific areas
Development and negotiation
of commercially robust contracts and pricing agreements for all suppliers
Maintain an understanding
of business drivers, the market and partner capabilities to exploit
business development and performance improvement opportunities
Person Profile
(essential/desirable qualifications, experience, knowledge):
IT Sourcing Experience, with focus on Hardware
and Telcos.
Excellent interpersonal,
written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a
demanding customer service environment
Good knowledge management
and analytical skills
Ability
to identify, negotiate and drive sourcing and multi-supplier arrangements
Experience
of using benchmarking and/or market research agencies to validate category or
purchasing strategy
Well
developed stakeholder management and influencing skills to executive levels in
client, supplier and own organisation
Ability
to develop high trust relationships with Partners and internal clients alike
An
ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
Comfortable
operating with incomplete information and ambiguity/uncertainty
Strong
Value for Money focus
Ability
to work to strict deadlines
CIPS
or equal qualification preferred
