The Role
Following expansion within their medical laboratory diagnostics and pathology solutions business, they seek to recruit a dedicated IT Technical Support Specialist / IT Project Manager. This is a newly created customer focused role, in which you will be responsible for the project management, network installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of networked laboratory information systems (LIMS), utilised by pathology laboratories throughout the UK. The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of innovative products dedicated to a broad range of pathology applications. Further job functions include project managing software installations, including software up-grades, configuration and testing of LIMS connections and other laboratory informatics devices. This role is home based and will involve extensive travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
Your Background
Applications are welcome from IT professionals with a background in healthcare informatics (PAS, RIS, PACS, etc), or LIMS (laboratory information systems), or experienced laboratory technicians / biomedical scientists with strong IT skills who have gained experience with LIMS. You will have extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, with ‘hands on’ software and networking skills, coupled with some knowledge of IT project management. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent customer facing skills, and will ideally have some exposure either to working in a field based capacity or, if laboratory based, an excellent understanding of laboratory information systems. You should be qualified in either an information technology or scientific based discipline.
