Salary: starting at £54,595 + excellent benefits inc. generous pension scheme
Salary Band: A1
Department: Facilities
Contract type: fixed-term for 2 years with the possibility of extension or permanency
It's not easy supporting a World Heritage site. Particularly when the facilities demanded by a modern Parliament need to sit alongside centuries of history. But if you pride yourself on the quality of your work, and you relish the idea of applying your know-how in a Grade 1 listed building, you'll find this one of the most satisfying jobs there is.
The successful candidate will be a logistics professional with an excellent track record in implementing and managing logistics operations. You must be able to identify opportunities to improve operations, and must demonstrate strong experience in managing service delivery through contractors, including driving down cost. Experience of managing open book contracts would be a distinct advantage.
You will report to the Director of Accommodation and Logistics in the Department of Facilities and will be expected to operate at a senior level across Parliament. You will line manage 2 Logistics Officers.
On appointment you will lead a project to implement a new logistics operation for Parliament. You will then manage the operation and the associated contract, finding opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Parliament's supporting processes through better logistics management. You will work with colleagues to achieve the necessary change.
Benefits: - annual leave starting at 28 days pro rata
- choice of defined benefits pension scheme or defined contributions scheme
- interest-free season ticket loan
- child care voucher scheme
- discounted membership of the in-house gym
