This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous experience within merchandising either currently as a merchandiser, a junior merchandiser or senior assistant merchandiser, preferably from a clothing background. My client is a very successful and rapidly expanding, fast paced, volume, fashion high street retailer and there will be various opportunities to grow within this company as it expands and grows. They are a leader currently on the high street and are going from strength to strength. This role has evolved due to an expansion in the number of stores that they have across their international franchise sector of the business.
In this role you will work with the B&M controller to identify and resolve key commercial issues and produce a commercial range that reflects the agreed strategy, budget and buying volume. You will explore the market to identify fashion trends and demonstrate an understanding of the partners’ national culture and economic potential. You will plan prepare and present trading and stock information and review products to ensure commercial suitability and you will have strong analytical skills and a good attention to detail. You will manage markdowns and ensure the store grading and space planning processes are suitable to maximise sales opportunities. You will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work well within a team and motivate, lead and coach the assistant merchandisers to develop an assertive and dynamic culture within the team and to achieve the business goals.
