An exciting position has been created for an experienced JAVA ARCHITECT to join a dynamic development team working on a new “Greenfield” project based in Nottingham. The particular responsibilities are for monitoring code quality of deliverable software as well as the provision of technical guidelines, standards and documentation through a governance role.
The successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for the provision of such aspects as unit test policy, continuous integration testing, framework components, workflow enablement, deployment strategies and tools for both development and usable functionality. The applicant may also be required to produce example code and develop technical components for the application. Applicants should have in depth experience as a senior Software Architect and will have worked on applications built primarily around the J2EE architecture and have a solid understanding of multi tiered developments as well as SOA principals.Finally the applicant will be required to work with the existing corporate framework and the team responsible for this.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
·Core Java
·JEE
·Expert in the use of UML to describe and model technical solutions
·JDBC, Hibernate/JPA
·Spring
·Maven
·JUnit or other unit test framework
·Ability to use own initiative
·Able to work as part of a team
·Mobile & Flexible (some European travel possible)
·Proven commercial experience developing & implementing a variety of core application solutions and business tools
Preferred Criteria:
·Experience in distributed applications
·Experience in multi-tier applications
