The role as Java Developer / Senior Developer with skills in back end enterprise Java development experience as well as experience in dealing with and processing large datasets:
Responsibilities of the Java Developer / Senior Developer:
Working as an experienced Java Developer in Central London for one of the pioneering internet companies is a fantastic opportunity to use your strong enterprise back end Java development skills in a large data set environment. Experience of using Spring, Tomcat and JUnit is of interest as well as a strong understanding of SQL and Linux operations.
Experience of working in a large data environment using SQL, PostgreSQL and/or MySQL is essential. Any exposure to Hibernate, iBATIS, Map Reduce or Hadoop would be beneficial but by no means essential as full training will be given.
As a crucial part of the Java Data team you will be working on all aspects of the development lifecycle from architecture, coding and testing through to deployment. You will need to be able to code systems that are distributed, scalable and fault tolerant under large amounts of data.
This role requires someone with strong attention to detail and who is very precise and accurate with their work. You will also have the opportunity to bring new ideas and implement new ways of doing things to improve operations.
