Responsible For
To manage projects or key aspects of a project from the bid phase through to delivery in orbit and operations.
Key Tasks
*To manage projects or key aspects of a project from contract start through to delivery in orbit and operations.
*To be responsible for all aspects of the project or part of a project within the established procedures & processes developed within the company
*Breaking down work into appropriate work packages and obtaining agreements with engineering teams.
*Preparation of cost packs and controlling budgets.
*Responsibility for action items and risk lists.
*Active monitoring & management of the project progress and milestone deliveries.
*Management of the technical solutions and developments.
*Providing reports to heads of Projects and Engineering.
*Providing monthly reports to director level
*Leading bid preparation and/or providing the programmatic elements of bids.
PERSON SPECIFICATION (essential requirements)
Qualifications
*None specifically but a degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical subject would be preferable.
Experience
*Some experience in project management and in setting up and running projects, ideally in a satellite or engineering/aerospace industry.
*Good experience of implementing contracts.
*Familiarity with work package systems and matrix management structure preferable.
Knowledge &Skills
*Project management in an engineering/aerospace industry.
*Excellent inter-personal skills; able to influence, persuade and negotiate with all levels of people effectively.
*Understand contracts and product assurance plans.
*Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met.
*Strong attention to detail.
*Good organisation skills.
*Good presentation and customer facing skills.
*Highly results orientated; strong drive to deliver.
*Proficient in all MS Office packages and knowledge of Microsoft Project.
