The Company
Surion Energy Limited is a battery materials research company, specialising in the research and development of low cost, high performance Lithium-ion materials.We currently have an opportunity for a Lab Technician to join our Research and Development team based at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire.
Main Purpose of Job
The preparation of new battery materials and the subsequent processing of these into fine powders. Classification of these powders and the production of electrode films and assemble cells for testing.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
·Materials preparation including mixing, pelletising, firing, grinding, milling and classification of powders.
·The formulation, mixing and coating of electrode films.
·Assembly of test cells.
·Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
·Proactively participate in Health & Safety initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Ideally candidates will be educated to O or A level standard (or equivalent), including a science subject.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience of working in a laboratory environment is desirable.
