Lead Technician – Financial Management

Every year, the finance division support a portfolio of corporate projects, to look at areas of cost reduction and income generation across the whole group. The team play a pivotal role in supporting the Change Management Division, by challenging the business case and commercial viability of each project.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will provide exceptional support to Nationwide’s project accounting and reporting. Project managers will come to you with their queries, as you prepare accruals and journals, and complete month-end reviews. Proving you’re the most organised and efficient of individuals, you’ll oversee the project’s budget, highlighting any irregularities. You’ll be seen as a finance expert in supporting projects.
About you
More than likely, you’re an experienced accounting technician who is looking to broaden your knowledge of the industry and investment processes. A friendly, positive addition to any team, you apply a methodical approach to your work. Tight deadlines don’t faze you – and neither do computer programmes such as Excel, Powerpoint and PeopleSoft. On your way to achieving ACCA or CIMA status, you’re a highly analytical candidate.
