Role Summary/Purpose
Reporting to the System Test Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible multiple testing projects and for each creating Test Plans, analysing requirements, deriving suitable functional and non-functional test cases, implementing these in a suitable tool, running these tests and analysing the results.

Test Data Preparation (for both manual and Automated Tests)
Test Case Design, Implementation and Execution (both Functional and Non-Functional)
Test Report Writing and Metrics Presentation
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer ScienceQualified to at least ISEB/ISTQB Software Testing Foundation LevelVersed in structured testing techniquesExperience of running multiple concurrent testing projectsExperience of non-functional testing as well as functional testingRequired to be self-reliant in a software testing roleAbility to learn product concepts and new technologiesAbility to analyse Customer Reported Defects and to identify systemic problemsFamiliarity with Mercury/HP Test Tool Set (esp WinRunner, Loadrunner, QTP and QC)Green Belt Certified (GE Employees)

Desired Characteristics
Demonstrable experience in a leadership position within a team of software testersKnowledge of GIS (ideally Smallworld products)Knowledge of Magik and/or VMDSExperience of testing in an Agile environmentAwareness of Six Sigma methodology and RCA processes
