Lifeguard - Bolton
We require a responsible individual with experience of working on poolside. As this is a hands-on role, experience of pool operations would be an advantage.
A relevant lifeguard qualification is essential.

Person Specification
Lifeguards at Total Fitness must be enthusiastic, committed and customer-focused people.
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, be smartly presented and have the ability to work under pressure.
Ideally our Lifeguards should have previous experience of working in a similar role in a health and fitness club. They must also possess a current relevant lifeguard qualification.
Duties and Responsibilities
·To undertake continuous swimming pool surveillance, recovery of bathers, resuscitation, first aid and general assistance in accordance with agreed procedures.
·To communicate with members to deal with enquiries effectively and promote services, referring to supervision as appropriate and maintain a high standard of customer care and service quality.
·To oversee general safety and monitor behaviour of members to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities or unsocial conduct.
·To maintain excellent hygiene standards on poolside by undertaking a systematic cleaning schedule and assisting with other areas as directed by the Club Manager / Duty Manager.
·To organise and oversee junior splash classes.
·Check for defects to equipment, pool plant, showers and other facilities within the pools and surrounding areas and report any faults to the management team.
·To perform water tests on all pools as required and to report any readings that are outside the normal levels to the Club Manager / Duty Manager.
·To report any accidents or dangerous occurrences as soon as possible to the Club Manager / Assistant Club Manager / Duty Manager. Any threats to the health and safety of other staff and members should be reported immediately.
·To provide special care to any members who may be at risk in any way.
·To reinforce Club rules where necessary and refer to the management team any members who fail to adhere.
·To carry out basic maintenance and health and safety checks as directed by the management team.
