Linux Support Technician/Administrator
Bristol
6 month Fixed Term contract, £24000-£30000 pro rata
Linux Support Technician/Administrator: An excellent 6 month fixed term contract opportunity has arisen for a Linux Support professional to join a prestigious company to provide support and administration for Linux/Unix based solutions with agreed Service Level Agreements.
COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Bristol, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, North East Somerset
Linux Support Technician/Administrator Key Responsibilities:
-Support and administration of Unix/Linux environment
-Respond and record progress of support through call management systems
-Provide effective incident and problem resolution
-Administer user accounts, access rights permissions
-Maintenance of operating system including installation of upgrades, and patch management
-Data management using EMC Legato Networker for data back up, restore and archiving
-Control of disk storage
-Manage smooth running of Unix/Linux hardware and deal with hardware faults
-Fault investigation and resolution
Linux Support Technician/Administrator Qualifications and Experience:
-Solaris and or Linux Red Hat Enterprise experience in a commercial environment
-Familiar with Sun Solaris and Sun Hardware
-MS Active Directory experience
-Strong Linux/Unix system administration experience
-Familiar with disk management concepts
-Server administration experience based around Linux/Unix
-Good customer-facing skills
