Logistics Manager / Distribution Manager Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 + Benefits
Fixed term contract until circa October 2010 The Role: Logistics Manager / Distribution Manager You would report to the Procurement Manager and the role would involve managing various contracts including; remaining Freight and Distribution contracts, cold storage contracts, contracts for the supply of distribution equipment and pallets, and the vehicle and fleet contracts. The role also involves the management of the open book for the haulage company contract, changing actual and target costs. You will also be involved in project work in connection with cost savings within the business. The Candidate: Logistics Manager / Distribution Manager
The successful candidate will need good knowledge in Transport Freight and Distribution, previous experience in negotiating goods and services at a complex, senior level.
Candidates will ideally be qualified to degree level; however we will also consider candidates qualified by experience.
Candidates should be willing to work flexibly and work some additional hours in order to complete their duties, working both independently and as part of a team.
