Alpla UK Ltd, is part of the privately owned ALPLA Group - with its HQ in Austria and over 130 plastics manufacturing plants worldwide. In the UK we operate 9 manufacturing plants on 7 independent locations, with our Golborne, near Warrington site, being the largest in both plastics technology and employees.
Having recently moved into new larger premises locally, we now wish to recruit a LogisticsManager, reporting to both our UK Regional Manager and local Operations Manager, to deliver the necessary changes going forward to ensure that Alpla maintain its already high customer service record in the supply of high quality plastic containers and moulded parts etc to its high profile customers, many of which are household names.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate significant experience of both Production Planning and Warehouse/Transport Management within a hi-tech production/warehouse facility, where leading edge software applications and technology are in use to further optimise finished product storage in line with customer demand and planned forecasting.
Your area of influence will be to manage a team of planners and warehouse staff to meet our current needs and those of the future, as it is planned to be one operational unit; devise, plan and manage the introduction and use of new software and technology that will enable greater stock accuracy, optimal product stocks and efficient machine loadings; and deliver a supply chain service to all our customers that continues to be timely, effective and within budget.
You will need to be fully IT literate, customer focused, methodical in your approach and able to communicate effectively at all levels within the business during a period of rapid change across two Operational Units and beyond. Applicants holding relevant Business/Transport Management qualifications would be at an advantage and additional experience of managing a fully automated warehouse/stock system would prove very useful going forward.
