MECHANICAL ENGINEER (PROCESS)

Proactive Personnel are proud to be representing this market leading recycling business in their search for a ‘MECHANICAL ENGINEER’.

This position will be based at our client’s prestigious processing facility within the North West area within easy commuting distance of the major cities.

THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER (PROCESS)

·Reactive response to equipment faults & breakdowns

·Effective fault finding & repair of mechanical plant & processing equipment

·Maintenance reporting on the computerised maintenance management system

·Implementation of minor continuous improvement projects (to improve equipment reliability & efficiency)

·Ensure compliance with regional health and safety, quality & environmental standards & procedures

·Administration of the facility Safe Systems of Work (mechanical permits & isolation / lock out procedures)

·Capability to achieve a high level of performance & reliability

·Support maintenance manager in achieving business kpi's & maintenance scheduling

·Completion of preventative & predictive maintenance plans (utilising CMMS)

Active involvement in:

·The day to day operation of all processing plant & building services (S-H-E)

·Maintenance strategy review meetings

·Continuous improvement meetings

·Coordination of sub-contractor activities

·Providing high quality feedback to the operations & maintenance team

·Housekeeping of all work areas & maintenance work shop

·Provide flexibility to support the business needs

THE SUCCESSFUL MECHANICAL ENGINEER (PROCESS)

  • We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking & self disciplined individual with strong mechanical engineering skills & experience

Essential:

  • Recognised Mechanical Craftsman Trade Apprenticeship
  • Recognised Mechanical Engineering Qualification(s)
  • 5 Years Experience in the Processing / FMCG Industry
  • Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Software Applications
  • Mechanical Maintenance Techniques (Preventative / Predictive / Overhaul)
  • Processing Plant (Pumps, Agitators, Conveyors, Pressure Vessels, Fans etc)
  • Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems
  • Welding, Machining & Fabrication
  • Lubrication Systems & Schedules
  • Vibration Analysis & Condition Monitoring Techniques
  • Precision Engineering Standards
  • Manual Handling, Lifting & Slinging
  • Fire Protection System Maintenance & Testing
  • Excellent Problem Solving & Fault Finding Capabilities
  • PC & IT Literate

Desirable:

  • C&G 2381 (16th / 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations)
  • Electrical Maintenance Qualification (NVQ L2
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing Techniques (TPM, 5's)
  • Experience with Combined Heat & Power Plant Operations
  • Commissioning experience
  • Mobile Elevated Working Platform Licence
  • Fork Lift Truck Licence
  • Experience of Hazardous Area Plant & Equipment
  • Basic Electrical Engineering Skills

In return for your skills and experience:

·Our client is offering a basic salary of £30,000 coupled with an excellent remuneration package
