Requirements: The purpose of this role is to provide financial management support to senior managers and budget holders by preparing management accounts, annual budgets, providing expert advice and being the first point of contact for all financial advice and support.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Management Services, the Management Accountant is responsible for providing monthly management accounts analysis to assist the regions in producing management accounts and latest estimates.
The Management Accountant will also have the following responsibilities:
-To be the first point of contact for financial issues including financial representation on project groups, providing management expert advice, ad-hoc financial reporting and support and influencing financial decision making through representation at senior management meetings.
-To co-ordinate the budget process to ensure that corporate objectives and timetables are met. Compile budgets and anticipate budget issues and problems within the budget process and provide advice to help resolve
-To analyse budgetary variances on a monthly basis and compile commentary for senior management and trustees.
-To develop key relationships with managers, supporting their needs and proactively identifying other opportunities to enhance the delivery of the service.
-To review and prepare analysis and papers for the executive management team and trustees.
-To provide ad-hoc financial advice and reporting and resolution of queries
To be considered for this Management Accountant position, you must be a fully qualified or very strong part-qualified Accountant or passed finalist who can demonstrable experience of management accounts, budgeting processes and budget holder interactions. Furthermore, you will need to be an excellent communicator and with good influencing skills with the ability to prepare internal management information and to work at all levels of the organisation with financial and non financial managers, Senior Managers and Budget holders.
You will also be required to show that you have the ability to analyse information about the organisation's operations, understand the business/commercial context and extract the impact on financial reporting and budgeting for those operations
Proven experience of working to an advanced level within Excel is a pre-requisite
