Despite the recession, the plant is experiencing considerable growth and we currently have an opportunity to join a diverse global organisation with facilities across Europe, Asia and America. We are now looking to appoint a self- motivated manufacturing Engineer to join our team, in order to secure future business and support ongoing projects
Duties will include:
·Initiation & management of Capital investment projects (£10k to £500K) from the original idea to financial justification through to implementation.
·The generation of manufacturing data
·Responsibility for the formulation & implementation of improvement ideas to improve costs, quality, delivery & safety.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

·The ability to learn quickly and make a positive impact
·Experience of dealing with ambiguity and an awareness of diverse solutions
Skills/Qualifications Required
·A minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
·Preferably qualified to Degree level in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
·Six sigma Green belt
·Experience of a medium volume / high variety automotive machining & Assembly environment
·Experience specifically of CNC Turning and Grinding processes and tooling would be a particular advantage
·Use of 2D & 3D CAD systems (Auto-cad or ProEngineer).
·Ability to carry out tooling, gauging and fixture design
·Ability to plan and lead projects and deliver on time
·A good practical experience of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g. SMED, Error proofing, 5S, etc)
