A leading Chilled Food manufacturer is currently seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead, develop and motivate manufacturing teams, focusing on producing quality products, in a cost efficient safe and consistent manner.Implement long term business strategy by developing and delivering improvement plans. This role will cover three nights per week (Sat, Sun, Mon).
Key responsibilities:
Provide leadership, direction and support to the department.
Demonstrate and instil interdepartmental workingwith a consistent approach between shifts
Assist in the development of the annual manufacturing strategy.
Set objectives and monitor for the manufacturing teams ensuring these are communicated and understood.
Ensure that every team member has a clear defined understanding of their role within the team.
Review the performance of all key members of the team and regularly set SMART objectives and targets.
Analyse the skills gaps within the department.
Develop appropriate training plans ensuring monthly reviews with the Area Managers.
Make sure formal and informal communication channels are used effectively focusing on visual impact.
Ensure all company procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
Develop the annual H&S plan for areas of responsibility, setting clear targets and objectives for theteams.Develop a strong safety culture focusing on behavioural safety.
Identify and rectify the root causes of all incidents in a timely manner.
Reduce energy costs across the business
Develop a strong continuous improvement culture within the business.
Establish and maintain the KPI system ensuring the information generated is accurate.
Ensure daily focus on KPI performance through the daily line meetings, ensuring that trend analysis is carried out on key objectives.
Ensure that waste, labour material standards and energy efficiencies are adhered to by the team, and continue to seek to improve these standards.
Implement improvement strategies for machinery utilisation and monitor effectiveness of these strategies on a weekly basis.
Ensure time is allocated for asset care and utilised.
Target short term and long term absence
You will need to be a strong influencer and be able to interact well with all other senior team members. This is a hand on role for an experienced Manufacturing professional who is looking for breadth of accountability across a large and demanding site. Previous experience in a fast paced food manufacturing sector is definitely required. You need to have a real can do attitude and the ability to lead and influence an experienced operational.
