To review and approve contractor submittals, resolve technical issues arising and ensure compliance with contract requirements.Working in a multidiscipline team of designers and engineers providing a comprehensive service to our clients, this is a great opportunity to gain experience within an internationally renowned consultant, affording the opportunity to work on large and small scale multidiscipline projects, in Dubai and potentially the rest of the Middle East region.
Responsibilities Review and approval of shop drawings Review and approval of material submittals Ensuring compliance with specifications and contract drawings. Liaison with Contractor Inspection of Marine works in progress Witnessing of testing and verification of marine construction Responsibility for maintenance of quality standards in marine works executed by the contractor. Direction of site marine inspectors/surveyors Preparing RFPs for the marine components of the project Reviewing marine drawings, calculations and reports and recommend optimum solutions to the Client Supervising all marine installation works both temporary and permanent including but not limited to sheet piling, corrosion protection, concrete quay walling etc. Provide site input to the review of Non-Conformance reports (NCRs) and endorse proposed remedial works, and assist with the resolution of site queries Control the quality of construction and commissioning of the marine works and ensure QA/QC records are being kept in accordance with procedures Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on progress for the client with regard to quality of workmanship and programme Attend site meetings
Requirements Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent discipline Minimum 10 years experience, with 5 years experience in Marine construction Experience in jetty works projects and dredging activities will be a distinct advantage Familiar with Marine Construction Safety, methodologies and equipments Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team Understanding of British, American and International design standards Reasonable knowledge of AutoCAD, and MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Good communication skills in written and spoken English essential Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues
