Marketing Database Analyst - Marketing - South West, required for my Market Leading Client. This is not a DBA role, although there are aspects that are similar. It is very much about being able to provide a stable and flexible data service to Marketing. The core part of this role is to act as a BA for my clients system (The system is primarily used for creating database marketing mailings and leads my clients various channels). The system is also used by the analysis team to deepen their customer understanding, create a segmentation model, to understand retention and to feed into econometric models to study campaign effectiveness. An understanding of data management and information quality in this marketing context would be an advantage. I am keen to speak to proactive and engaging candidates who can get inside their stakeholder needs with the potential to explore other internal and external data sources and tools to enhance the data set.
Job Purpose
The job would be to maintain a my clients marketing system, linking this in with external and internal sources.
Experience of matching multiple customer data sets is essential. The expectation would be that due to integration there would be an immediate need to expand their matched data set.
Support marketing and leads as well as for the analysis function within marketing
Good interpersonal skills to deal with stakeholders and sponsors would be required. Forums are set up to collect requirements. The expectation in this role is that you would act as a business analyst to collect and interpret the internal customer requirements and then implement them aligned with agreed priorities.
MI creation. Specifically, a data quality dashboard is required to be created and maintained. Experience here would be desirable.
Experience in a marketing environment, so experience of CRM, plus DPA and compliance is also a plus
Ad hoc extracts may also be required to be written for analysis and research, although this is not the core purpose of the role
Skills
Technical - SQL (preferably Teradata, Oracle), JCL
Advanced Access skills. (Essential)
Other experience such as with SAS and/or MS SQL Server would also be useful.
