Mechanical Architect - Aerospace / Space Technology - £35,000-£48,000 (dep on exp) - Hertfordshire
The Mechanical Architect will be responsible for managing the Satellite Accommodation & Structure verification, Mechanical sub-systems (including structure, mechanism, booms) both in house and sub-contract. Key activities will include:
- Team management of thermal and propulsion architects, dynamic analysis and drawing office personnel.
- Providing guidance to CAD operators in order to generate drawings and documents for satellite integration.
- Liaison with Integration & Verification to resolve problems as necessary.
- Preparation / evaluation of test plans and test reports.
- Presenting the satellite architecture to customers with the use of presentations and formal design review packs and meetings.
- Agree/accept test results from the various phases of build (subsystem/spacecraft) and where necessary defend these at customer delivery reviews.
- Management of the mechanical analysis team during satellite level environmental testing, including liaison to customer, launch service provider, test facilities and project management.
The Mechanical Architect must have experience as a mechanical architect including mechanical design, team leading and management within the space oraerospace sector and qualified to Degree level in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Maths or Physics. Good Microsoft skills and preferably other software such as NASTRAN.
