Mechanical Design / Integration Engineer. £££'s Negotiable.

Our market leading client, is looking for a mechanical integration engineer, with a design background, to join its team, in a fast paced and dynamic manufacturing environment. The role will cover pre sales technical support, to define the mechanical integration of systems within packaging machines. Development and maintenance of support materials such as training documents, drawings, system specifications will also form part of the role..
Responsibilities:
a) Provide assistance with development and specification of standard bracketry.
b) Design and specify bracket applications using the standard bracket products
c) Design and specify and test customised bracketry for OEM customers.
d) Design and specify adaptors for competitive equipment.
e) Create 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components ensuring compliance with internal drawing and geometrical tolerancing standards;
f) Identify components and sub-assemblies that can be reused across other products, modifying items and specifications where appropriate
g) Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers regarding the procurement and specification of components for use in the projects;
h) Identify problems, evaluate options and formulate solutions; taking cost, benefits, safety, quality, reliability, appearance and environmental impact into account;
Some international travel to client sites may be required.
A Degree Qualified Mechanical Engineer is preferred, but relevant experience will definitely be considered.
Key skills and experience:
1) Experience designing bespoke mechanical solutions for industrial applications
2) Relevant experience (designing, maintaining, servicing or Installation) of packaging / process machinery or related equipment is desirable, but not essential
3) Knowledge of industrial coding technologies would be an advantage
4) Comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD proficiency, preferably using Pro-engineer Wildfire
5) Good understanding of a wide range of modern manufacturing techniques
6) Thorough knowledge of high quality design procedures
Salaries are negotiable according to experience.
