An Engineering Graduate, (either with a Sandwich Degree or at least a year in industry) you will be joining our client company as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Working in a Design team alongside 3 others, you will be working on a range of equipment for the food manufacturing industry.
You will need to be experienced in the use of Solid Works and have a good grasp of mechanical design in relation to turned and milled parts, fabrication, pneumatics and, ideally, mechanisms
The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is a varied one and touches on all of the following:
*Handling issues relating to potential areas of mechanical interference or non-fit.
*Highlight potential improvements that can be made resulting in product design.
*Carry out initial CAD rough fit design using minimal detail to prove concept.
*Produce 3D CAD models using Solid Works, detailed as appropriate so that fit, form and function can be proven.
*Liaise with Production Engineers and manufacturing colleagues in order to produce manufacturable, reliable and cost effective product.
*Give consideration to designing for ease of manufacture, assembly and servicing.
*Provide liaison, support and assist in building prototypes and pre-production pilot runs.
*Production of engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation packs.
*Analyse materials, techniques, and methodologies to achieve optimal product design.
Salary negotiable according to level of experience but will be in the region of £22000-£25000 pa
