Mechanical Packaging Engineer :
World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Packaging Engineer.
The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after). The hourly rate is £31 per hour.
You do not need to hold current SC Security Clearance; however you must be eligible to be cleared to this level.
Mechanical Packaging Engineer Job Description:
It would be preferred if candidates have ProEngineer experience however they may consider "exceptional" candidates with other 3D packages.
Candidates need to be “designers” rather than “draughters”.
Responsibilities:
• Definition of bespoke Mechanical Packaging designs housing CCAs.
• Interpretation of Sub-System Specifications and generation of 3D models/designs on CAD (ProEngineer).
• Generation of CCA Interface Definitions including electronic data exchange to ECAD tools.
• Carry out investigations into a full range of Mechanical Packaging problems, issues or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a project team.
• Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects.
• Support to functional & environmental trials.
• Liaise with suppliers/ purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise.
• Planning own day-to-day activities.
Skills / Experience:
• Experience in specification, design & manufacture of Electronic Sub-Systems.
• Knowledge of the following: Manufacturing processes, EMC, Gaskets, connectors to BS & military specifications, tolerance studies, environmental test, thermal management, materials, CCA/Flexi manufacture, electronic components.
• An appreciation of other engineering areas/domains.
