One of Toronto's leading mechanical contractors is looking to hire a Project Manager for their Major Projects Division. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and results oriented with an extensive background in the ICI Mechanical Contracting industry.
This position encompasses a wide range of duties which include but are not necessarily limited to the following.
One of the key success factors that my client has developed in order to assist their Project Delivery teams with successfully completing projects is the Total Planning Process (TPP). Their expectation is that this process will be adopted and followed.
o Participate in Estimating turnover meetings and Preconstruction meetings.
o Work closely with and support our union Foreman with respect to project execution.
o Manage the labour work force on your respective project with the support and direction of our Labour Manager.
o Complete monthly financial forecasting reports and participate in our project status review (PSR) meetings.
o Each Project Manager is given full financial responsibility to execute, complete and deliver the project.
o Build and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships; review contracts for scope, maintain productivity, quality, and costs and ensure the projects are completed in a manner that supports the overall strategic and operational objectives of the company.
o Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional organizations.
o Negotiate the buyout packages of equipment with suppliers, subcontractors and manufactures.
o Attend client and construction meetings as required and to disseminate the information to our work force and subcontractors.
o The Project Manager would be expected to price and manage all change order pricing and documentation for their projects.
o The candidate must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
o The successful candidate must have a background either in mechanical engineering, mechanical trade experience.
Further we require a min. of 3 to 5 yrs experience as a Project Manager directly related to Mechanical construction.
